Do You Suffer From the Pain of Arthritis?
Do You Have Painful, Swollen Joints?
Maraika and Julie - Two people sharing a common bond. Both suffering the painful degenerative disease of Arthritis, and both finding relief from the symptoms using the same natural treatment to give them back the quality of life they both once enjoyed. They share their stories with you so that others may benefit.
This is Maraika’s story
“I have had Arthritis in my hands and fingers for many years now. At first I thought it was just the normal run of aches and pains. My family doctor said there wasn’t much he could do at this stage and to expect worse as I got older. But after a few years the pain in my joints was getting so bad that at times I just wanted to roll up into a ball and go hide. I would take painkillers but they made me too sleepy and unable to function. I would then spend one or two days just lying around because I was so “out of it”. The pain would have eased for a while but I had “lost” another few days. Not only was the pain getting worse but also the swelling in my knuckles. I was working as administration manager but could by this time barely hold a pen and typing on a keyboard jarred my fingers even more. Then my knees also started to ache. Kneeling became a real chore and frustrating because not being able to get up without clinging onto a firm surface or having someone to help me made me feel so helpless.
I had to plan my days around how I felt in the morning. Some days were better than others though but they were often the days that you would knock your painful hands or bump your knees. I became depressed thinking that I did not want to live out my life with constant pain and I was not looking forward to the further joint deformity that was bound to happen. I went from being self sufficient to reliant on other people. People to open jars for me, people to hold items, people to write letters for me. I could not even hold a knife and fork.
When I first started to have swelling and pain, I saw my family doctor and expected to be given the usual prescription drugs for Rheumatoid Arthritis but he only said that I would just have to learn to live with it for now and to take a painkiller when needed. But this became a daily event. I accepted that though as I did not want to start on a life time regime of drugs and medications each with their own side effects. Then I started to do my own research on the Internet (just like you are doing now) and I ran across several doctors who are each using a similar approach to treating Arthritis. I learned that the pain was caused by inflammation and getting rid of that would also get rid of the pain. To change my diet and how to build up my Immune System to help it prevent disease and alleviate the pain of the disease I already had.
One of these doctors is using high quality vitamins and nutritional supplements to treat his patients that have Arthritis disease. When I found that it was not only this Doctor but other medical providers whose solution to treating Arthritis was to also use a combination of high quality vitamins and nutritional supplements, I figured that these doctors using the same system and products, with good results, is as good as a second opinion, so I decided to give it a try.
I spoke to several others who had tried this regime and I decided to see for myself. If this worked for them, it might also work for me. I had nothing to lose except a few dollars and I had spent a lot on other remedies, which didn't work. So I was game to try almost anything to get rid of these symptoms.
I started these products in the middle of May 2000 and by October 2000 my pain had eased and I started to get function back into my hands. I was able to hold eating utensils and also a pen. I was fine until I decided that maybe I was fooling myself and I was now “cured”. So for some time, and because my new Doctor didn't believe in this concept, I went off all the vitamins and nutritional supplements and the pain came back in a short while with a vengeance. Just proves to me that if something works don’t change the system. If you would like to ask me a question, or if you need more information, please send an email and I will get back to you ASAP. The crippling effects of Arthritis causes a major change in life style. It not only affects the person with the disease but also their loved ones.”
